Forum: Pensions Managers’ Forum

Thursday 14 July 2016

Aimed specifically at addressing the issues they face, this invaluable forum allows pensions managers the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences on a range of different topics and issues.

New data protection requirements are due to come into force in 2018. Whilst these requirements stem from Europe, with data protection being a global concern, trustees and their advisers will need to ensure that they have taken steps to prepare whatever the outcome of the referendum on 23 June 2016.

In July 2016, a new DC code of practice will come into force, supplemented by a series of new guides aimed at helping trustees know “how to” implement the new code.  In addition, the latest restrictions on charges levied in DC arrangements being used to satisfy an employer’s automatic enrolment obligations came into force on 6 April 2016.

Our latest forum will therefore focus on:

  • The key differences between the current data protection requirements and those scheduled to come into force in 2018
  • What steps trustees should consider taking now to prepare for the new requirements
  • How the new DC code differs from the one currently in force and what (if any) steps trustees should be taking to get up to speed
  • What the latest restrictions on charges mean and whether there are DC changes coming down the track

The forum will also include an open “Any Other Business” section, held under Chatham House rules and providing you with the opportunity to discuss any issues with which you are currently grappling.  If you would like to take advantage of this section, please let us know the topic you would like to raise when confirming your place.

By attending this event you can claim 1.25 hours CPD under the PMI CPD scheme.
