Sackers contributes to PMI’s 2023 ESG report
In an article for PMI’s 2023 ESG report, partner Stuart O’Brien looks at how far trustees can go with impact investment. The regulatory landscape that trustees have to navigate in relation to ESG and climate change has developed considerably in recent years. Significantly enhanced obligations now apply to occupational schemes, especially in relation to climate-related risks and opportunities. Although the Government remains at pains to point out that legislation does not tell trustees how to invest, in practice new regulations have ushered in a new era of climate-related governance and we are starting to see some changes in investment behaviour.
