Philippa Connaughton joins PLSA DB Policy Committee
The PLSA has appointed Sackers partner Philippa Connaughton to its DB Policy Committee.
Philippa’s links with the PLSA go back to 2007 when she volunteered to answer a pensions hotline. Since then, she has spoken at many PLSA events and, for the last 10 years, has been delivering the PLSA Trustee Training workshops which she helped to design and develop. With a broad practice advising trustees and employers on all aspects of UK pensions law, regulation and industry best practice, Philippa is well placed to support the DB Policy Committee’s work.
Commenting on her appointment, Philippa said: “I am really looking forward to being able to contribute my legal skills and experience to help the PLSA with its DB policy objectives. With clients including trustees, employers and investors, I am in a unique position to see the impact of existing DB legislation and regulation from a 360° perspective and draw on the collective experience of the 70+ lawyers at Sackers at the same time.”
John Chilman, Chair of the PLSA Policy Board said: “Our Policy Committees play a vital role in providing deep subject matter expertise on the policy and regulatory initiatives which impact our sector and, by providing a voice for the different segments of the pension landscape, help shape the policy agenda for retirement saving across the UK. Together with the rest of the PLSA team, I welcome the new Committee members and look forward to the fresh ideas and enthusiasm they will no doubt bring.”
