Industry concern about government’s IHT proposals
Partner Eleanor Daplyn comments on the government’s plans to include pensions within the scope of inheritance tax as part of an article in the April issue of Pensions Age. She notes that introducing more complexity could lead to an increase in the number of complaints that go the Pensions Ombudsman. But she also makes suggestions on how to improve the proposals, including that a scheme only be liable if and when it has been provided with all the information necessary to work out the tax due.
