In an article for Pensions Expert, senior counsel Emma Martin explores what more can be done to support DC savers in decumulation. The current framework leads to inconsistencies between savers, depending on, among other factors, their DC pension arrangement, the options their arrangement offers, whether they have other savings in different pots which can be consolidated, and the size of their pot. The Government has published a consultation on a new policy framework to support members in trust-based schemes using their DC pension savings in decumulation, the ball is rolling on improving the support available.
