I advise both trustees and employers on a wide range of pensions matters affecting their DB and DC pension arrangements.

I enjoy working closely with trustee clients and other advisers to provide seamless support on common issues affecting occupational pension schemes as well as more complex projects. This includes handling benefit and other member queries, transfers, dealing with member complaints, drafting scheme governing documents and communications, and checking compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

I have a particular interest in trustee governance and former cross-border schemes and also regularly advise on buy-ins / buy-outs, bulk transfers and GMP equalisation and conversion.

Recent experience

• advising on the implementation of new governance policies and frameworks
• assisting trustees with all stages of buy-ins, buy-outs, and bulk transfers to master trusts
• negotiating service provider contracts, including data protection elements of commercial agreements
• advising on all aspects of GMP equalisation and conversion, from methodology and approaches to data issues, to member communications and amending deeds
• working with the trustees of two former cross-border section 615 schemes to advise in relation to legislative changes following Brexit.
