Stuart O’Brien comments on the growing trend to pay heed to members’ views on sustainable investing

In an article in IPE on the trend to democratise pension fund investment, partner Stuart O’Brien sets out the current position in the UK and the extent to which trustees can consider “non-financial factors” in their investment policies.

He argues that there is plenty of space to address sustainability in investment decisions by looking at ESG issues through a financial lens. “Trustees should not be waiting to see if they can get their members to give them the green light.”
