Know-how

Our internal Know-how is recognised by Chambers UK as “second to none” and “the firm is also praised for keeping clients informed on latest pension developments.”

Our Know-how team works hard to fulfil the important roles of keeping both clients and Sackers’ own lawyers up to speed with developments in the fast changing world of pensions and retirement savings.

Our expertise

Sharing knowledge with our clients is an integral part of the service we offer and with over 60 pensions experts providing an unrivalled resource (and a combined experience of over 500 years) there is very little that is new to us at Sackers.

It is the job of the Know-how team to:

  • tap into our collective expertise in order to resolve issues for clients speedily and cost effectively
  • provide seamless access to information within the firm, whether a new legal development or an old chestnut
  • act as a centre of excellence, providing support and second opinions on legal matters for all our lawyers.

Sharing knowledge

Keeping up-to-date with legal developments in pensions and translating them quickly into practical advice is essential for our clients. The Know-how team is responsible for our comprehensive Knowledge programme of alerts, briefings, consultation responses and seminars, providing clients with invaluable insight into all the latest legal and regulatory developments.

In addition, Claire Carey, the head of the Know-how team, personally delivers our popular quarterly breakfast seminars.

Training

We take our in-house training programme for our lawyers very seriously. The programme, run by the Know-how team, ensures that knowledge is widely shared across the firm for the benefit of all our clients.

As well as weekly training sessions aimed at all lawyers, we also provide more targeted training. For example, there are dedicated training programmes for junior lawyers, to ensure they are well grounded in all the building blocks of pensions law and practice, including litigation, finance & investment.
