Sam Dalling comments in IPE magazine on how trustees should prepare themselves now for new ESG deadlines
Associate, Sam Dalling, has written in IPE magazine on the opportunity for trustees to use the COVID-19 lockdown as a chance to better prepare themselves for the impending round of ESG reporting requirements, due on 1 October.
The new requirements mean that trustees must include much more detail on trustee policies in their SIPs, and broad wording is no longer acceptable. Cautioning against leaving this as a last minute consideration, Sam encourages trustees to engage with their asset managers and investment advisers now. He also comments that “Trustees who treat this as a box ticking exercise may well find themselves coming unstuck as member scrutiny increases”.
